Quality Policy

GATIC supplies access covers, grates, engineering castings and related items which conform to recognised international product standards, and provides a service which exceeds the expectations of its clients.

We achieve quality outcomes by

GATIC maintains and controls a quality management system certified to comply with AS/NZS/ISO 9001:2000, and product testing accredited to AS 3996 as verification of the quality and reliability of its services. Our laboratory is committed to conformance to ISO/IEC 17025.


System Certification

GATIC Altona site which is responsible for ferrous products is certified to ISO9001:2000 by International Standards Certifications. which is in turn accredited by JAS-ANZ. The Registration Number is QAC/R61/0123


The scope of the certification is

Sales, Design, Importation, Manufacture, Warehousing and Distribution of Cast Iron and Fabricated Mild Steel Metal Access Covers, Road Grates and Frames for the Chemical, Electricity, Industrial, Government and local Government Industries



Product Certification

Product Certification is in place to AS 3996 with International Standards Certifications with Registration Number PRD/R61/0123.

    GATIC LABORATORY

Quality Policy

We are committed to good professional practice and conformance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

The quality system is in place to ensure accurate and timely test results in order to demonstrate conformance of our products to agreed standards and to facilitate progress in product development.

All personnel are required to be familiar with the quality documentation and to implement the policies and procedures in their work.

Staff have clearly defined responsibilities to eliminate potential conflicts of interest.


Laboratory accreditation

The laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 (1999) by NATA (the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia), the accreditation number being 14262.

The scope of accreditation is as follows:

13.01 Metals and metal products
• .51 Compression, transverse and shear tests
• Compression tests up to 1 050 kN on access covers, inspection covers, grates and frames to AS3996 Appendix C, BS EN 124 Section 8 and similar standards

.99 Other tests
• Bicycle safety tests on covers and grates to 3996 Appendix D
• Watertightness tests on covers to AS3996 Appendix E
• Gastightness of covers to AS3996 Appendix F.
The facilities are not normally available for public testing.

The MILNES facilities operate under a documented management system based on ISO:9001:2000. Our products meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.

We are committed to continuous improvement, assessed against measurable quality objectives.
All members of the organisation are expected to play an active part in the improvement of our products, service and systems.
